According to a new Haaretz report, Israeli soldiers say they were ordered to fire on civilians near Gaza aid sites. While Israeli officials deny wrongdoing, the humanitarian crisis deepens – with thousands of Palestinians killed, the UN called Gaza the ‘hungriest place on Earth’ with all its people at risk of famine. Humanitarian experts from numerous organizations continue to warn that the situation has taken on lethal proportions, with the UNRWA commissioner calling the aid distribution system “a death trap.”
