11 emerging BRICS countries set to meet in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday

The BRICS nations are meeting this weekend in Rio de Janeiro. This group of 11 emerging countries—including Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—positions itself as an alternative to the Western-dominated geopolitical order. Many hope the summit will boost the group’s ability to act as a counterweight to the international policies of US President Donald Trump. Michael Fox reporting from Rio de Janeiro.
