The future of Afghan refugees who were accepted into a German resettlement programme remains uncertain after they were left stranded in Pakistan. Thousands of kilometres away in Germany, an election in which migration dominated public debate, has led to the gradual suspension of the programme. Many of the refugees who are considered at risk under the rule of the Taliban say it’s too dangerous to return home. Brenda Radido reports.
