Elon Musk, a former ally of Donald Trump, says he will follow through with his plan to start a new political party in the United States in reaction to the president’s controversial new spending law.
The new legislation includes a provision that ends tax breaks for electric vehicles, which could have a significant impact on Tesla, Musk’s car company. Musk first threatened to form the "America Party" while the bill was being debated in Congress.
Trump has accused his former advisor of "going off the rails" and says the new party is destined to fail.
