At an emergency summit in Bogotá, twelve Global South nations pledged six concrete measures to end Israel’s genocide in Gaza and its ongoing violations of international law.
Their commitments include halting arms shipments, cutting public contracts linked to Israel’s occupation, and supporting prosecutions for crimes in the occupied Palestinian Territory.
The Hague Group meeting brought together representatives from over 30 countries, with Executive Secretary Varsha Gandikota-Nellutla declaring a unanimous agreement to ending the “era of impunity".
UN Special Rapporteur Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng, also in attendance, urged an end to what she called the “self-imposed silence and passiveness of world leaders”.
The Bogotá gathering marks a bold shift from condemnation to enforcement—and a rising Global South no longer willing to look away.
