Demonstrators in Brazil’s capital have rallied in support of former president Jair Bolsonaro, who is accused of plotting a coup after losing the 2022 election. Counter demonstrations denouncing Bolsonaro and ally Donald Trump have also taken place. The Trump administration placed a 50% tariff on Brazilian imports, which Trump’s trade representative has defended as ‘punitive’. Craig Boswell reports from Washington DC.
