Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan praised US President Donald Trump following a meeting on 8 August for supporting negotiations between Yerevan and Azerbaijan, and for developing a “roadmap” aimed at fostering increased, mutually beneficial cooperation between the Central Asian countries.
Trump first met with Pashinyan in a separate meeting, which was followed by talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The agreement seeks to “unlock the great potential of the South Caucasus region in trade, transit, and energy,” according to White House spokesperson Anna Kelly.
The plans are provisionally being referred to as the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity.”
