Benjamin Netanyahu has defended his controversial plan to expand Israel’s military offensive in Gaza.
Speaking at a news conference, the Israeli prime minister told reporters the operation was the best way of ending the war, saying Israel had "no choice but to finish the job and defeat Hamas".
Critics say the offensive will lead to more Palestinian deaths, while the families of those hostages held in Gaza say the move will lead to the deaths of their loved ones.
