Global disagreements stall efforts to curb plastic pollution

Plastic production has increased rapidly, causing serious environmental damage as it breaks down into microplastics that pollute the oceans and enter living organisms. Despite years of negotiations, the world has yet to agree on how to stop plastic pollution.
More than 100 countries called for limits on production, but oil-producing nations like Saudi Arabia and Russia insisted on focusing on recycling instead, blocking a unified solution. Paul Hawkins has the story.
