Russian and Ukrainian presidents could meet within weeks according to Donald Trump, who hosted an emergency summit at the White House with Volodymyr Zelenskyy and several European leaders. The US president telephoned Vladimir Putin shortly after the summit, and says all sides are committed to peace. But some European leaders are doubtful about Putin’s motives.
