More and more US allies are recognising Palestinian statehood to add momentum to a two-state solution ahead of the upcoming UN General Assembly. Ireland, Spain, Norway and Mexico have already taken steps, and now pledges have come from France, the UK and others. This wave of recognition adds pressure on the US amid intensifying global outrage over Israel’s war on Gaza. Craig Boswell reports from Washington.
