This week marks the third anniversary of the death of Mahsa Amini which sparked the youth-led Woman, Life, Freedom movement in Iran. In the face of injustice, Iranians across generations, especially women and minorities, rose up in a peaceful quest for human dignity and rights. The regime responded with an unprecedented violent crackdown. According to many observers, including the UN, what followed amounted to crimes against humanity. To reflect on these events, their impact, and the ongoing fight for justice, we’re joined by Azadeh Pourzand, Senior Fellow and Head of the State-Society Relations Research Unit at the Center for Middle East and Global Order (CMEG).
