Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on September 21 that Israel will fight the growing global push for Palestinian statehood, claiming it threatens Israel’s existence.
Netanyahu’s comments came ahead of Britain’s expected announcement that it will formally recognize a Palestinian state, joining over 140 UN members, in addition to Canada and Australia. Countries including France and Belgium are also expected to follow suit this week at the UN General Assembly.
