Starmer: ‘Were acting to keep alive the possibility of peace and a two state solution.’ | DW News

The UK, Canada, and Australia are formally recognizing a Palestinian state. Amid mounting pressure to end the war in Gaza ahead of next week’s United Nations General Assembly, the United States and Israel are strongly opposed to this move.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that recognition would endanger Israel’s existence and constitute an absurd reward for terrorism. To date, more than 140 countries have recognized a Palestinian state.
