On Monday, Italians across the country protested against Israel’s war in Gaza. Grassroots organizations called for a 24-hour general strike. Several of the country’s unions – including railway and dock worker unions – participated in the strikes. Clashes broke out between a few protesters and police at Milan’s Central Station, though the majority of demonstrations in 81 Italian cities were reportedly non-violent.
