How severe is the damage caused by Typhoon Ragasa? | DW News

Typhoon Ragasa is sweeping along the Chinese coast. The storm is said to be the strongest cyclone so far this year. Now it is battering China’s densely populated Guangdong province – after being downgraded from a super typhoon to a severe one. On its path across the region, Ragasa has already caused massive damage in other areas, especially Taiwan and the Northern Philippines. At least ten people there have been reported dead, including a number of fishermen at sea. Homes and infrastructure suffered damages as well, more than 20.000 people were displaced due to the typhoon.
