Storm Gabrielle brought torrential rain to Spain’s Valencia, Catalonia, and Aragon regions, dumping up to 100 litres per square meter in a few hours and forcing police to rescue stranded motorists. The towns of Aldaia and Cuarte de Huerva were among the hardest hit as rivers overflowed, while schools, transport, and daily life across more than 60 municipalities were disrupted.
