The Thousand Madleens flotilla, a fleet of eight boats along with the Conscience vessel, is en route to Gaza in the latest attempt by activists to break Israel’s siege and deliver humanitarian aid.
An earlier effort by the “Global Sumud Flotilla” to challenge Israel’s blockade on the enclave was intercepted by Israeli forces last week, with more than 470 activists from over 50 countries detained.
