Thousands of Palestinians have been returning to Gaza City after a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took affect on Friday morning. US envoy Steve Witkoff has since confirmed Israel has completed the first phase of its withdrawal, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says some troops will remain in the enclave. Some Palestinians are already back in Gaza City, finding mostly destruction as they make their way through mounds of rubble. Many had been hoping to find what was left of their homes or belongings.
