Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces claim capture of El-Fasher | DW News

In Sudan, the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces say they have captured a key city in the Darfur region. El-Fasher was the last government stronghold in the area. It’s been under siege by the RSF rebels for 18 months. Videos appear to show their fighters celebrating victory. The capture of El-Fasher could mark a turning point in a war that has killed tens of thousands and displaced millions.

Journalist Naba Mohiedeen in Khartoum told DW how the fighting has affected the civilian population in North Darfur.
