The UN has reported that war crimes are being committed by the Rapid Support forces (RSF) and the military in Sudan since fighting broke out in April 2023. In North Darfur’s capital, Al Fasher, a decisive shift is unfolding, with the RSF advancing and the army withdrawing. There are allegations that the paramilitary group has committed mass killings as it entered and took control of Al Fasher. There are still hundreds of thousands of civilians trapped in a city that is on the brink. Nizar Sadawi reports.
