Israel launches strikes on Gaza, says troops were attacked | DW News

Israel has carried out air strikes on Gaza despite an ongoing ceasefire. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered “powerful strikes” on the territory.
Gaza’s Hamas-run Civil Defence Agency says at least nine people were killed in the strikes. Israel and Hamas accuse each other of violating the US-backed ceasefire agreement, which came into effect about three weeks ago. An Israeli official said IDF troops had come under fire in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza. Hamas released a statement, denying involvement in the attack.
