A US military strike killed two people on an alleged drug-smuggling vessel in international waters of the eastern Pacific on November 4, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said, bringing the death toll from Trump administration’s air raids in South American waters to at least 66 people across 16 attacks.
Trump administration officials have admitted they have no way of identifying those on board before targeting vessels accused of drug trafficking, nor can they meet the evidentiary burden needed to hold or try the survivors.
