Around 300 children and several teachers were abducted from St. Mary’s School in Niger State, leading authorities to close all schools in the region. The attack is part of a wave of recent kidnappings across Nigeria, including incidents at a girls’ school in Kebbi and a church in Kwara. As insecurity worsens, parents are increasingly fearful and express little confidence in the government’s ability to protect their children. Kristina Shimich has the story.
