The Speaker of the House of Commons has confirmed the government will be giving a statement at 3.30pm.
It will be delivered by Treasury minister James Murray, rather than the chancellor, who is in Wales.
It is likely that MPs will question Murray about allegations Reeves lied about the state of the country’s finances.
