French President Emmanuel Macron ended his China visit Friday on lighter note, meeting his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in the southwestern city of Chengdu, where the first couple’s agenda included a visit to a panda research centre. Reporting from a Chengdu university, where Macron is set to meet students, FRANCE 24’s Clovis Casali says the agenda was designed to showcase Franco-Chinese ties.
