Sky’s communities correspondent Lisa Holland has spoken to a Palestinian asylum seeker who remains in limbo.
The independent public spending watchdog has ruled the UK’s current asylum processes are flawed and costing taxpayers more than it should.
In the last year alone, it’s estimated nearly five billion pounds was spent on the system.
The National Audit Office also looked at some cases filed three years ago and found more than half still haven’t been resolved.
