Tensions between Donald Trump and Europe are escalating. Last week, European leaders were angered by the Ukraine peace plan, drafted without any consultation with the EU. Now, the rift has widened further after Trump publicly criticized Europe as “weak” and “decaying,” remarks that sparked strong reactions in Brussels. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell even described the comments as a “declaration of political war,” though other European officials are trying to downplay the dispute, as FRANCE 24’s Dave Keating reports.
