Former International Space Station astronaut Tim Peake has called on the US and China to work together on a mission to the moon.
The US says it intends to dominate space, and will return to the moon to build a permanent presence there.
But in an interview with Sky News to mark the 10th anniversary of his launch to the ISS, Peake said it would be “foolish” to start a new era of hazardous lunar exploration without contingency plans for rescuing astronauts from other countries in an emergency.
