The mother of murdered student Libby Squire says she supports government plans to train teachers to spot signs of misogyny in boys, but says tackling the problem "should be starting in the home."
Lisa Squire, a vocal campaigner to improve safety for women and girls, says funding must be made available for the strategy, and says police also need to focus on "red flag offences" such as flashing and non-contact sexual harassment, as perpetrators often escalate from such crimes to serious offences.
Libby was kidnapped, raped and murdered by a man who had previously committed a number of sex crimes against women, including indecent exposure and voyeurism, but many had gone unreported.
