The US has been restricting trade of high-end microchips to China, in an effort to prevent Beijing’s military from acquiring advanced semiconducters. Despite those restrictions, China has reportedly made a major breakthrough in advanced chipmaking. Sources say a team in Shenzhen has built a working prototype of what is considered the world’s most sophisticated semiconductor equipment. Abdulvehab Ejupi has the story.
