Security concerns in Europe have intensified this year amid questions about the US commitment to NATO, a rise in incidents involving Russia and its ally Belarus – and the failure to bring peace in Ukraine. Much of the focus has fallen on the Baltics, where suspected acts of sabotage and forced airport closures have prompted warnings that Russia is testing Europe’s ability to respond.
