17-year-old Walid Ahmad died of starvation while in Israeli custody and an Israeli court has closed the investigation without pressing any charges.
Ahmad’s family, citing his Brazilian citizenship, plans to pursue justice through international avenues, including the ICC. Human rights groups say hundreds of Palestinian prisoners have died in Israeli detention since the Gaza conflict began, accusing Israel of war crimes and inhumane treatment.
