Syrian President Ahmed al Sharaa and Central Bank Governor Abdul Qader Husariya unveiled new banknotes in Damascus on December 29, without any Assad portraits.
The currency was redenominated as part of broader economic reforms following the ousting of the Assad regime in December 2024.
