Sky News has seen opposition supporters in the Ugandan capital Kampala being beaten and taken away by the security forces.
It comes as the country holds presidential elections, a vote which the opposition says is unfair.
President Yoweri Museveni, who has ruled the country for decades, is leading the poll, the country’s electoral commission says.
The opposition says its leader Bobi Wine has been taken away by the army.
