EU vows robust response to Trump’s threats over Greenland’s sovereignty | DW News

In her speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen responded directly to threats from US President Donald Trump to impose new tariffs on European countries and to press ahead with his demand that the United States take control of Greenland, a semi-autonomous Danish territory.
In remarks closely watched across Europe and in Washington, the Commission chief warned that while the EU wants to continue working with the United States, it is prepared to respond if Donald Trump escalates. Will European resolve be enough to shift Washington’s position? Or is the confrontation over Greenland and tariffs now heading for a more direct clash.
