“Say it loud, say it clear! Refugees are welcome here!”
Dutch people protested against Geert Wilders’s controversial visit to the city of Delft, following the withdrawal of seven members from his Party for Freedom (PVV) on January 20.
A splinter faction within the PVV led by veteran MP Gidi Markuszower accused Wilders of authoritarian management, of mishandling the October campaign — when the party lost 11 seats — and of refusing to introduce a formal membership structure since the party was founded in 2006.
The split reduces the PVV to 19 MPs in the Dutch parliament, leaving it as the fourth-largest bloc.
