Russia strikes during peace talks to appear ‘unstoppable’ | Prof Michael Clarke analysis

Russia has launched a "massive attack" on Ukraine’s two largest cities – Professor Michael Clarke analyses the timing of the Russian strikes.

He said, "the Russians have done this all the time – they always strike either just before or just after talks and in a way the strikes are designed to show the Ukrainians they must give in".

"They are designed to show the United States, the White House, that they are somehow unstoppable – these strikes are not random, the Russian’s think about what they are about to do," he added.
