US official defends Minneapolis shooting as self-defence

US Border Patrol senior official Gregory Bovino said the agent involved in the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alex Pretti in Minneapolis fired in self-defence after the man allegedly approached officers with “a semi-automatic handgun” and “violently” resisted efforts to disarm him.

The killing occurred just over a mile from where US citizen Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE officer on January 7.
