A federal judge in Minnesota has ordered the acting ICE director to appear in court on Friday.
District Judge Patrick Schiltz said "the court’s patience is at an end" and Todd Lyons must explain why his agency has failed to hold a bond hearing for an immigration detainee in the court-ordered timeframe.
Meanwhile, Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino and some of his agents will leave Minneapolis following the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti on Saturday.
The Trump administration’s "border tsar" Tom Homan will also head to the city to lead the immigration crackdown and meet with local officials.
