The hearing follows US airstrikes on Caracas and a military operation in early January in which Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were captured and taken to New York to face federal charges, according to U.S. authorities.
Vice President Delcy Rodriguez assumed the interim presidency and has agreed to an oil supply deal with the U.S. government.
