Keir Starmer arrived in China bearing what might be the most diplomatically painful gift of all time: a signed football from a recent Manchester United match in which they beat Arsenal. Xi Jinping has recently declared his support for United, while Starmer is a lifelong Gooner.
Fellow Arsenal fan Beth Rigby said the moment made her laugh as she accompanied Starmer on the trip.
