Five of the 24 pro-Palestine activists known as the “Filton 24” have been released after spending 18 months in pre-trial detention, despite the legal limit being six months, after a jury refused to convict them on any of the charges against them.
The group was imprisoned for taking direct action against the Israeli arms manufacturer Elbit Systems in Filton, Bristol, protesting the supply of weapons used in Gaza.
