Nigeria has announced plans to phase out wooden passenger boats in favor of fiber vessels, to curb frequent fatal accidents. But riverine communities warn the move threatens their only affordable means of transport. And designers in Goma, eastern DRC, are using fashion to help them cope with the trauma of living through conflict.
