The Arctic Circle chairman Olafur Grímsson has warned that any U.S. attempt to forcefully take Greenland would trigger "monumental consequences" for the Western alliance, on a scale unseen in living memory. Speaking to TRT World, Grímsson linked President Trump’s interest in the territory to countering China in the strategic Arctic region. He emphasized the area’s importance for climate, resources, and military positioning, advising the U.S. to strengthen its own Arctic capabilities instead of pursuing aggressive territorial moves.
