A man has been shot dead at U.S. President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, the sheriff of Palm Beach County has confirmed.
Law enforcement agents confronted the man, who was carrying a gas can and a shotgun, after he entered the "inner perimeter" of the estate, said Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.
The individual, described as a white male in his 20s from North Carolina, was shot and subsequently died at the scene after he "raised the shotgun to a shooting position".
The president was in Washington at the time of the incident.
