The BBC issued an apology on February 23 for failing to cut a racial slur directed at two Black actors during the annual British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards ceremony.
The broadcaster said the remark was an “involuntary” verbal tic made by a guest with Tourette’s syndrome who inspired one of the evening’s award-winning films.
