Can Russia keep up its war effort indefinitely? | DW News

Early on February 24, 2022, Russian forces, which had amassed on Ukraine’s borders, crossed into the country and began advancing toward the capital, Kyiv. Many thought it would be only a matter of days or weeks before Russia gained full control of Ukraine.
Four years later, the front line has largely frozen, with Russian forces occupying approximately 20 percent of eastern and southern Ukraine.
