How small US businesses fought back against Trump’s tariffs – and won | DW News

Small businesses took on Trump’s tariffs – and won. Last week, the Supreme Court ruled that Trump’s emergency duties on imports from all around the world were illegal.
Goods from nearly every nation in the world were affected by the duties, with rates that often seesawed according to the state of relations between the US and any given trading partner.
US President Trump said the import taxes would boost domestic manufacturing and create jobs in the US. But it had the opposite effect on many small companies.
The US president called the Supreme Court’s ruling “ridiculous” and announced a 15 % hike in global tariffs lasting for 150 days. The White House has not yet officially implemented them. Trump’s reaction to the ruling shows that the chaos with tariffs might not be over yet.
