The government will not be giving the landmark assisted dying legislation more time in the House of Lords, which means it almost certainly will fall, Sky News understands.
Deputy political editor Sam Coates says the government chief whip in the Lords, Roy Kennedy, has said that it will not be allocated more sitting days for debate, meaning it is extremely unlikely to pass before the King’s Speech in May.
